FLOWERS & PLANTS ASSOCIATION
INCREASES ORGANIC MEMBERS
The Flowers & Plants Association has acquired
an increasing amount of organic flowers and plants
suppliers in 2007.
With more consumers opting for ethical choices
in their shopping, demand has increased for flowers
and plants sourced from pesticide-free farms.
In September, the Flowers &
Plants Association welcomed another member who supplies
organic freesia from Guernsey, and has received enquiries
from independent UK organic growers looking to dispatch
their product.
Although a new concept to the industry, the Association
expects 2008 to be an even busier year for Organic flowers,
especially around Valentines day.
The Flowers & Plants Association represents suppliers
of UK grown, Fairtrade and conventionally farmed products,
including florists, growers, importers and wholesalers.
