English Village Salads, supplier of fresh produce
to the retail and foodservice sectors have just
unveiled the latest addition to their local schools'
Garden Club.
The Camblesforth School potting shed
is the latest donation to the school from local business
English Village Salads.
The Garden Club is run by Fiona & Ian Fenton and
is aimed at bringing the children closer to nature and
helping them understand where their food comes from.
This is the ethos shared by the organisers of the 'Year
of Food & Farming',
The Yorkshire & Humber region's Year of Food &
Farming initiative was launched in September this year.
The campaign is aimed at helping children reconnect
with the countryside and develop a life-long appreciation
of food.
English Village Salads are supporters of the initiative
and are delighted to be involved with Camblesforth Primary
School's fantastic Garden Club.
Kelly Colrein, Marketing Manager, EVS said "this
latest edition to the garden club is really going to
help keep up the momentum through the cold winter months.
The children are really excited about it. They have
grown all sorts of vegetables this year, including onions,
carrots, lettuces - all of which have been harvested
and eaten by the members of the club. All of the people
involved in the club, including head teacher, Miss Parker,
should be congratulated in making this project something
that themselves and the children can be really proud
of".
