| While other sectors within
the frozen food market have suffered due
to the unseasonally cold and wet summer weather,
Tryton Foods has seen sales of its Aunt Bessie’s
Yorkshire puddings soar by 27% as consumers
have opted for traditional family roasts,
rather than barbecues and salads.
Now Tryton is set to take
an even greater share of the frozen Yorkshire
pudding sector with the launch of Aunt Bessie’s Best. Cooked
in large tins, these new premium Yorkshire
Puddings are 20% larger and significantly deeper
than a standard pud.
Because they have been
cooked for a little longer before freezing,
they really do deliver a light and crispy
product with a slightly uneven texture – just like home-made.
“This premium Yorkshire Pudding offering
in combination with Aunt Bessie’s, one
of the most trusted brands in the sector, will
help to put value back into a sector which,
traditionally, has suffered from price deflation,” says
John Hendy, Commercial Director at Tryton Foods.
“We expect them to add a further £2
million to the marketplace within 12 months
of launch as consumers instantly recognize
their premium positioning.” In keeping with the entire Aunt Bessie’s
portfolio of products, Aunt Bessie’s
Best Yorkshire Puddings contain no artificial
colours, preservatives or additives and are
made with the highest quality store cupboard
ingredients, such as finely milled Yorkshire
wheat flour. All this is clearly flagged up
on pack and clearly demonstrates to the consumer
that Tryton is committed to its promise of
traditional foods made from store cupboard
ingredients which taste just like homemade.
The new Aunt Bessie’s Best Yorkshire
Puddings come in a pack of eight and have an
RSP £1.49. For further information contact
