Steven's risen through the ranks at George Wimpey began in 2000 when he joined as site manager at The Avenue in Kilwinning, before being promoted to Senior Site Manager at the company's developments in Bellshill, East Kilbride, Irvine and finally at Dalry.
This is a challenging new phase of Steven's career as he explains: "This is an exciting step-up in my construction career. Across the geographic area that I'm now responsible for I'll be maintaining all our health and safety standards; ensuring that all our national and regional procedures are in place and being used, and keeping our build-programme on track.
"Plus I'm heavily committed to George Wimpey's training and mentoring scheme to ensure that we have a healthy supply of well-trained young people pushing through the ranks of the construction industry, so I'll be encouraging our apprentices to be as good as they can be to make sure they're some of the best in the industry."
Steven's achievements since joining George Wimpey West Scotland are extensive and include a George Wimpey national PQA Award; various George Wimpey national awards for Health & Safety, five NHBC Pride in the Job awards for his various sites, plus a 'NHBC Seal of Excellence award' for Cherry Tree Gardens in East Kilbride; he has NHBC Site Manager accreditation and he's an Incorporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.
