In addition to Browns’ reputation
as a city centre high rise specialist, developers
Time & Tide,
who awarded the contract, cited a likeminded work
ethic and a similarity as a successful and growing
business as part of the reason for Brown’s
success.
The project will be the largest
either company has embarked upon to date.
Browns’ pioneering systems would also help
the building achieve a high BREEAM rating, scoring ‘very
good’ on the four tier environmental rating
system, just one step below the top grade of ‘excellent’.
Gravity will be built at the
Eastern Gateway to Manchester city centre and will
also include the redevelopment of 3,000 sq ft of
land into public parks. The building will offer
one and two bedroom apartments and also penthouses
and will include two levels of basement parking.
Work on Gravity will commence
in March next year with the first phase launched
for sale in the Summer. Completion of the project
is not expected until 2010.
