Warmafloor (GB) Limited

Scientific research has proven that underfloor heating is the most effective system for keeping warm, as it encourages physiological temperature distribution throughout the human body.

Add to this the fact that you can have comfortable heating in any building without the inconvenience, expense and unsightly service requirements of traditional heating systems, and it becomes easy to understand why underfloor heating is growing dramatically in popularity. What’s more, at Hampshire-based Warmafloor they have a solution for your building!

Indeed, Warmafloor serves a wide range of discerning projects, from the British Museum, National Gallery and Parliament Buildings through to the Building Research Establishment. Consultants, architects and local authorities rely upon Warmafloor, one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of heating and cooling systems, for a broad portfolio of solutions, with the company also having recently utilised this expertise on its own new build facility in Fareham.

Opened in early 2007, the company’s ultra-modern, 20,000 sq. ft. building incorporates three floors and has been designed for optimum performance. In fact, just for once, the much over-used phrase ‘state-of-the-art’ means just that!

A ground source heat pump is at the heart of the energy needs for the facility and, using embedded coil technology and burying ‘slinkies’ in slit trenches six metres deep rather than going for bore holes, means that the Warmafloor heat pump does not burn any fuel. Consequently, the system is non-polluting, clean and safe. There’s much more though, including chilled ceiling panels, low energy lighting, increased insulation levels, a heat recovery system and a rain catcher. The company even uses silver beech trees as solar shading at the front of the building during the hot summer months – the attention to detail is simply staggering.

As you would expect of such a forward looking company, business is good, with Warmafloor carrying out a number of jobs for schools, hospitals, care homes and other commercial clients throughout the UK. In addition, it has signed an eight-year agreement with Aspire Defence for the MoD to work on a number of new build projects, from mess halls and garages through to barracks and new facilities for the British Olympic squad to use at new team headquarters in Aldershot.
