First opening its doors for business in 2004, JIG Architectural has grown impressively, now employing 11 highly skilled and creative personnel at its office in Mold, North Wales. The practice was voted within the top 100 start – up businesses in Wales within it’s first year.

The practice serves clients throughout both the UK and further afield; recently, for instance, commencing work on a new VIP lounge at an airport in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. Closer to home – just down the road in fact - it is currently active on a project for a leading provider of wind power, working on a very energy efficient building that will be relatively self-sufficient.

Winning much of its work through repeat business and word-of-mouth, JIG Architectural is looking to continue to expand over the next two or three years, which will no doubt be helped by the fact that Wales wants to go carbon neutral by 2010. With this in mind, the practice is looking at all kinds of concepts and initiatives within the field of sustainable building.

JIG Architectural has its own small works unit too, currently focussing primarily on care homes; it has term contracts with three local authorities in Wales, and is now looking to move into the North West of England.
